Toddler Time

Caroline and I have started a new mother/daughter program. Each morning is designated to some genre of activity.  We've conveniently planned it during Johanna's morning nap so we can have one on one time together.  Mondays we have baking time, Tuesdays, craft time, Wednesday we have body time, Thursdays, learning time, and friday, library or "do something nice for someone" time.  These photos are from body time, of course, of us stretching after weight lifting.  Caroline is dying to have her own weights instead of using a paper towel roll.

Despite the organization between me and "Curly", Johanna does what she wants, when she wants.

Eye of the Tiger

Before the race

Last Saturday, Nicole ran her first 5K. It took place in Harrisburg on a place called City Island, which is neither near a city nor is it an island. Oh wait, yes it is.

Mommy's faithful, stroller-ridden supporters

Anyway, so Nicole has been training for this race for months. I am very proud of her dedication and hard work. She's really improved since she started running a few months ago and actually got her best time to date at the 5K .

...but clearly hasn't grasped the concept of "laps" yet (see video below)

Bunnytown

Having two girls couldn't be anymore fun. This Easter morning photo shoot was so rewarding seeing two of the loves of my life so happy to be with each other.

Green Day

Trying to get a photo of the "green girls" BOTH looking at the camera, or at least looking happy, took about 15 tries. Here are the two winners, er, photos that are better then the other 13.

"I'm so glad when Daddy comes home"

Our family has done some major adjusting lately with Bobby being gone quite a bit on business. Thank goodness, it is just a busy season for his kind of work. I have had to adjust to not having his company at night when both girls are down and doing a lot of things that I usually can rely on him for. I've been amazed at how much Caroline misses Bobby DAILY when he is gone. Every time she hears a car outside, she says, "Daddy's home!" That gets pretty difficult to explain when there are six houses that share our cul de sac, each owning 2 cars each. The homecoming after the long time away is always memorable. Even Johanna, a seven-month old baby, totally reacts to hearing Daddy's deep voice when he comes in the door.

King of Prussia Trip

We went with Brooke and Christina (Bobby's brother and wife) to King of Prussia, PA for a shopping day. It is right outside of Philly and what a cool place! It's 2 hours away but quite worth the trip, especially eating at a California Pizza Kitchen again.

Isobel and Johanna and their odd daddies.

Here's Caroline-- looking patient, but is really creating havoc behind the camera waiting for her Hawaiian pizza. See the broken crayons???

Something Exquisite

This weekend has been one of the most incredible and memorable weekends of my life. My dear friend and brother, Stephen, returned this week from Australia to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has had a long 10 years searching for truth through philosophy, through secular knowledge, and found himself empty handed while writing his doctoral dissertation. He has totally changed his life for what he has discovered to be real Truth. Being with him and witnessing this total transformation has completely encouraged my conviction for my faith and what i believe.

It was so thrilling to have Meredith drive down from Rochester to be at Stephen's baptism.
